How to Hide Your Steam Activity

5 Effective and Stealthy Ways to Hide Your Steam Activity

You can hide your Steam activity in a number of different ways:

Method 1: Change Your Steam Status to Invisible or Offline

Try #1 VPN ExpressVPN will hide your browsing data/gaming activity from hackers and government, speed up your internet & block annoying ads.

The easiest way to hide your Steam activity is to change your Steam status to Offline or Invisible. By doing so, you can hide your activity status on Steam while the game is still visible on your account.
To do this:

  • Launch “Steam”.
Double click Steam app shortcut in Desktop
  • Go to the “Friends” menu.
  • SelectInvisible or Offline.
Change Your Steam Status to Invisible or Offline

Once your status is set to Offline or Invisible, you can play any game you want. Your friends won’t receive any notifications. However, the game achievements will still be visible on your profile.

Moreover, you will be logged out of your chat if you set your status Offline. But if you set the status to Invisible, you will still be able to communicate with your friends.

If you don’t want to opt for this option, you can also hide your game details from your friends.

Method 2: Hide Your Game Details from Your Friends

Steam allows your profile visitors to see your gaming history. However, you can hide what games you own and what you’re currently playing.

Here’s how:

  • Launch “Steam”.
  • Hover the cursor on your username and click on “View my profile”.
Go to Steam Profile and click View my Profile
  • Now select “Edit Profile” > “Privacy settings”.
Click Privacy Settings on your Steam Profile
  • Click on “Public” next to “Game details and select “Private” or “Friends Only”. The changes will be auto-saved.

Method 3: Replace Recent Steam Activity

If you forgot to hide your activity from friends and have already played a game, there’s a way to still hide your last activity. You can replace recent activity by either playing another game for a few seconds or watching the free watchable episodes on Steam.

To watch Steam’s free episodes:

  • Go to “Steam’s” website.
  • Search for a free watchable website and play it, such as “Life is Strange.
Search for Life is Strange on Steam
  • Once the new window opens up, close it.
Watch FREE on Steam then close window
  • Repeat this a few times so that your entire “Recent Activity” list is replaced.

Method 4: Hide the Specific Games

Steam allows you to set specific games as Private to hide them. When you mark a specific game as Private, it will not be visible to your friends.

Here’s how to do so:

  • Launch “Steam” and go to your “Library”
  • Find the game in your library and right-click on it.
  • Now click on “Manage” > “Mark as Private”.
